Moist Honey Cake


160 g flour
100 g sugar
100 g vegetable oil
2 eggs (room-temperarure)
170 g honey
120 g tea (strong black tea)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg


Preheat an oven to 180 С and prepare a parchment paper-lined loaf pan.

In a separate medium mixing bowl, add the eggs, oil, vanilla extract, honey, and mix well with a whisk.
Add the hot tea into the wet mixture and mix until combined.

In a separate large mixing bowl, add the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until combined.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients mixture and carefully mix until just combined (don’t overmix!)

Pour the batter into a parchment paper-lined loaf pan and bake in a preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean

Drizzle honey on top of the cake and let the cake cool for at least 30 minutes
